Student Staff Information for Supervisors

This documentation outlines how supervisors view student staff position and wage details, request a wage record be closed, and request a wage increase. Please contact the Payroll Office (336-278-5284) or the Human Resources Office (336-278-5560) with any questions.

Accessing Student Staff Information

  1. Login to OnTrack
  2. Click 'OnTrack for Staff'
  3. Click the 'Student Staff Information (for supervisors)' link under the 'Time and Entry Approval' section
  4. A list of active and non-active student staff members will be displayed.  A non-active student has an open position with you as the primary supervisor but no open wage records. To make them an active student, please complete a new work agreement

 

Position and wage details

  1. Click the 'Position and Wage Details' link for the appropriate student staff member
  2. A list of positions is displayed for the student
  3. Click the "Wage history" link for the appropriate student staff member to see the wage history for that position
  4. Click 'OK' to return to the main page

 

Request wage record be closed

The Payroll Office will process all requests around the 15th and 30th of each month.
 
  1. Click the 'Request wage record be closed' link for the appropriate student
  2. Position and wage history is displayed for the student
  3. Choose the button beside the appropriate statement
  4. Enter comments - these are required
  5. Click 'SUBMIT' to submit the request for processing
  6. Supervisors are not able to make additional requests until the Payroll Office has processed the existing request

 

Request a wage increase

  1. Click the 'Request a wage increase' link for the appropriate student
  2. Position and wage history is displayed for the student
  3. Enter the amount of the increase and choose an effective date
  4. Enter the email address for the person responsible for the budget
  5. Enter the reason for wage increase
  6. Enter any comments
  7. Click 'SUBMIT' to submit the request for processing
  8. Supervisors are not able to make additional requests until the Human Resources Office has processed the existing request
