This room is located in the basement of Schar Hall. It functions as a classroom with 19 desktop computers, a projector, white board, and a printing station.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the back bottom left of the monitor.
  2. Turn on the touch panel controller by tapping the panel. It will take about 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Log into the computer using your Elon username and password.
  4. Select your desired input using the touch panel controller (Desktop, HDMI, VCR, DVD, or CD).
  5. Turn off the computer by clicking the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and then select the "Shut Down" option.
  6. Turn off the touch panel controller by tapping the power button located on the top right of the panel.

1.) Touch Panel Controller (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel to turn on the system, the system will take about 30 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch panel control to select the desired input (Computer, DVD, VCR, or CD).

  3. To turn the system off, press the "System Off" button located on the top right of the touch panel control.

  4. Finally, click "YES - Shutdown."

Desktop Instructions

  1. Under the Computer tab on the touch panel, click on the button that says, "Desktop."
  2. Make sure that the computer is on.

Laptop HDMI Instructions

  1. Under the Computer tab on the touch panel, click on the button that reads, "HDMI-LAPTOP".

  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord.

  3. Ensure that your device is turned on.

DVD Instructions

  1. The DVD player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

VCR Instructions

  1. The VCR player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your VCR tape into the player.
  3. Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display VCR controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the VCR player.

CD Instructions

  1. The CD player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your CD into the player.
  3. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display CD player buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.

2.) Desktop Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

4.) Student Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

 

5.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

 

6.) TV Displays (NEC)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the top right of the CPU (located on the top row of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Tap the touch control to turn on the system.
  5. Select appropriate input to display on TVs (Desktop, HDMI, DVD, VCR, CD).
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).
