Quizzes in Moodle can help assess student learning. They can be used as a formative exercise that includes feedback and multiple attempts or a summative test with a strict time limit and shuffled questions. Learn how to add questions to quizzes with this article. For more information on quizzes, please visit our Getting started article here, or our article on creating quizzes here. For information beyond these articles, please visit Moodle documentation here.
1. Navigate to the course containing your quiz, and click on your quiz.

2. Adding questions to an empty quiz vs. a quiz containing questions is different. See below for how to navigate that difference.

- To add questions to a quiz already containing questions, click "Questions".

- At the bottom of the question list, on the right side, click "Add" and then choose the question type. If you are creating new questions, select "+ a new question".

3. For new questions, select your question type from the window. Once you are ready, click "Add".

4. You will be automatically directed to the settings for that question. Add the information required.

5. Once you are finished, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save changes".
